Oh my, how much things can change in a few days! Smokin' hot! Just need some of that confidence juice.
Wish I looked that good in real life!
I absolutely love this drawing... the proportions may be off a little for Roxanne, but that body, those fur lines... I like it. And I know she would gladly take it, too ;-)
This was drawn during the summer, when it was extraordinarily hot. Seem so long ago right now, doesn't it? Not my best drawing by any means, but still okay, I suppose. I have those sunglasses! And that skirt, come to think of it...
I do like the falling tank top strap. Not that I would know anything about that... I mean, it's not like that happens to me all the time and I don't notice or anything...
Engrossed in a very important activity. You can tell by the tongue position, give it away...
I like this drawing.
I absolutely love this drawing. The necklace, the clothes, the eyes, the ears, the fluff, not to mention the pose and emotion... love it. Can't think of much more to say, except that I wish I felt like her in this picture more often!
Title is pretty descriptive. I thought I had posted images of Adelaide here to the website before, but searching for them, I realize I must not have. Adelaide is what "Border Collie A" became over time... she's a brown Australian Shepard/Border Collie cross or something like that. She's a pretty neutral character who I'm still feeling out. She does have a pure heart, however, that much is clear.
That said, I hadn't drawn her for a long time, so this was as much an experiment as anything. In particular because none of my regulars would really match this pose. Not sure if this is what she will stay looking like.
Another out of order image.
I lost a friend this past week. This was drawn early on, in a moment of mournful shock, before the news really could sink in.
Lauren, there was no one else like you. You were one of the most generous people I've ever met, and your sparkle couldn't help but enrich the lives of everyone who crossed your path. You were loved, and you will be sorely, deeply missed.
Regular updates to resume in a day or two. It's what I think she would have wanted.
So, I don't normally go out of order in my sketchbooks. I'm not quite sure why; perhaps it's because I want the dates on this site to clearly show (what I hope is) progression. Also, it doesn't give me time to seperate myself from my work so I can view it clearly. My initial reactions to it are more often than not not the ones I have later. When you are done drawing, you are simply too close.
That said, today, given the current balmy temperature of 9ยฐF (-12.8ยฐC, 260K), I figured I'd actually share something I drew today. Brrrrr.
Not sure about the teeth, but hey, what did I say about judging before time had passed? This is actually not my first 2014 dated drawing; you will get to see that in the future. Assuming I keep my scanning up. But unlike last year, where I went a whole dozen or so drawings with "12" in the signature (and had to erase, print, and draw in a three for each one), I remembered this time. Huzzah for small victories!
Anyway, I've written more than enough. Enjoy!
This was a drawing that got me out of a funk. Came out great, in my opinion.
I love the lip bit, and especially the dress. Bow!
Sometimes I look at this image and like it, others, I look at it and hate it.
Right now, I quite like it. ;)
